What are some of the reasons why Intended Parents need a Surrogate?
There are many reasons why Intended Parents may need a Surrogate. Some reasons are, but are not limited to, unsuccessful past pregnancies, medical conditions that make pregnancy difficult or impossible, marital status, age and sexual orientation.
What types of women want to become Surrogates?
Women who become Surrogates are typically mothers who are dependable, adaptable, compassionate, committed to the process and have a sincere desire to help others to become parents. Surrogates must be between the ages of 21 and 40 and in good physical and mental health.
Do I need to be vaccinated for COVID-19 to become a surrogate?
Preferably, yes. Most medical doctors and therapists that we work with require vaccination for screening. However, not being vaccinated is not always a dealbreaker and qualification will be determined on a case by case basis.
How much time will it take to match me?
Western Surrogacy continuously screens potential Surrogate Mothers with the purpose of having candidates ready to interview with Intended Parents. This process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Our priority is making sure that we pair individuals that share similar values and goals to help make this a positive experience for all parties involved.
What type of people does Western Surrogacy service?

How much will the delivery cost?
Your insurance professional informs you of your monthly premium payments, your deductible, and maximum out-of-pocket amount(s) for maternity care and delivery. Every surrogacy delivery is different; therefore, Western Surrogacy, cannot give you a preset amount.
Whose insurance is billed for the delivery?
The surrogate’s insurance is billed for maternity care and delivery. The IPs insurance is billed for the baby’s care after the birth.
Does Western Surrogacy offer medical bill analysis, monitoring, or claims dispute services?
These services are offered through our surrogacy insurance professional for an additional fee. Please let us know if you are interested and we will share pricing information.
When will my insurance premium payments end?
Three months following the delivery of your baby, unless the surrogate experiences complications related to the surrogacy and/or birth.
Will the surrogate’s insurance provide a breast pump?
Some insurance providers will offer a free breast pump, however, the pump provided may not have the technology needed to help with initiating lactation or increasing milk production. IP’s should expect to purchase or rent a hospital grade pump (or equivalent) for the best outcome. The surrogate is allowed to choose the pump that works best for her needs and is reimbursed by the intended parents for the cost.
